How to be responsibly responsive and dissipate your fear
In Part 1 of this blog article I said that most people will be experiencing just two feelings now that Donald Trump has begun his Presidency. Fear and excitement. If you’re feeling predominantly fearful (anger, frustration, and resentment are reflections of fear) then you’ll need to be in full control of your responsive actions if you want to stand any chance of changing the reality that’s disturbing you. You must have a responsible mindset if you are to be effectively response-able.
Feelings are independent energy forms that alert your conscious mind to information about to transfer directly from your inner (spiritual) self. They often act as “emotional-signals,”[i] telling you that you’re creating emotional energy within you. And that emotional energy has a desire to be expressed. In my last post (Will Trump trump Brexit?) I said, “It doesn’t matter who’s elected [as President]. What crucially matters is that we take heed of the psychic communications encapsulated by the feelings and emotions the events stir up within each of us.” Now that Trump has the Presidency, there are now two feelings, backed by a flooding of emotional energy, at the forefront of your mind—steering the focus of your imagination. These are fear and excitement—perhaps in equal proportions—but whatever your allegiances, fear will be the first to wrestle with your attention.

I often finish work just before 6pm so that I can settle down on the sofa with a glass of Merlot and a handful of nuts to watch the BBC news. Last Wednesday’s opening story had me in despair before I could put glass to lip or crunch a walnut. Quite rightly, in my opinion, the BBC showed images that for once were truly disturbing. Their report showed pictures of a Turkish police officer carrying the body of a small boy from a beach. The boy, Aylan, his brother and mother had drowned in a desperate attempt to reach a Greek island within the European Community. When I thought about it a little later in the evening, I became alarmed as to my “normal” state of insensitivity. I realized that it had taken such harrowing images to arouse one of the foremost “Natural Principles” within me.
Compassion is that foremost Natural Principle
I say alarmed, as it would appear that in order for events of human suffering in other areas of the world to truly grab my attention these days, ever more shocking input is required from my outer senses. It’s no longer enough to read or hear of hundreds of migrants perishing in the waters of the Mediterranean, or of dozens of refugees suffocating to death in the back of a truck in Austria, or of asylum seekers risking life and limb to scramble over razor wire at the Channel Tunnel entrance, for me to sit up and focus.
Listed within this book are a set of “Natural Principles.” Gleaned from spiritual and metaphysical literature, they provide you with an ethical and vital code by which to live your life. They are derived from the natural forces, the “laws of the inner universe,” that drive everything in existence.
The Natural Principles are not a set of laws or commandments from on high; they are a purified set of behavioral guidelines—primarily mental behavioral guidelines—unadulterated by institutional dogma.
