Welcome to my rejuvenated “Me & You” blog!

header covid-19 part 2

I began this blog in 2015 after being inspired by the Seth book The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, authored by Jane Roberts. The blog’s theme is based on this book’s perspective on how we co-create our shared reality and how such co-creations affect the individual’s reality creation.

If you are new to Me & You, I suggest you go here to familiarise yourself with its theme.

“In this book I will try to tell you what goes on behind the scenes – to show you the ways in which you choose your daily physical programs, and to describe how those personal choices mix and merge to form a mass reality.” (Seth, The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events: A Seth Book. Roberts, J. [1981]. p. 81.)

Readers should be aware that my blog’s intention is to highlight the alarming, fearful, traumatic, or even abhorrent mass events that we co-create for ourselves and shed some metaphysical light on why we have done so. This is based on a “truth” declared by more than one metaphysical source, namely, that we, individually and collectively, create the reality we perceive. Also stated by several metaphysical sources, is that until we assimilate this truth into our psyche, and take up the responsibility implied by the statement, we cannot progress our level of consciousness

When I started out there were relatively few truly global mass events that warranted a more nuanced examination. Then Donald Trump ran for the Presidency of the United States in 2016! Food for thought on democracy, powerlessness, victimhood, elitist culture and narcisistic personality disorder! In 2020 I posted several times on the “pandemic” and the vaccination program, an event of momentous proportions, the repercussions of which are still being played out in our fragmented Western world. My aim is to present a deeper underlying psychological cause for such events and suggest how we as individuals can best respond to them. As many will appreciate, we are experiencing a plethora of fear inducing events of late across the globe. It would be good to remember, that according to Seth and other metaphysical sources, all such ‘negative’ mass events are drawing attention to the problematic beliefs we collectively hold on how we should express ourselves in the physical realm.

To illustrate this principle, which applies just as much to an individual’s personal ‘negative’ reality creations, I present myself as a case study.

My first of two personal highly ‘negative’ events took place over the winter of 2022/2023. In the UK we were beginning to come out of the authoritarian regulations imposed on us because of the pandemic. Following lengthy monitoring of an aortic aneurism, just before Christmas, my aneurism had reached critical mass. It was time for a surgical intervention. As my chances of surviving a ruptured aorta were 15% at best, I gladly signed the consent form!

After the surgery, which went very well by the way, I had plenty of time to ruminate on why I had created this event for myself. To keep a long story short, several weeks of deep meditation and study of my collection of metaphysical literature, led me to understand I was harbouring a deep-seated archetypal belief in my lack of self-worth. This unconscious core belief was stymieing the full expression of my Self in this lifetime. Ironically, this was the very belief I had highlighted for readers in the new edition of my book It’s About You! Know Your Self.

This dramatic event had awakened me to a belief that still held some sway in my personal psyche. I needed to, and did, dissipate the energy behind this belief by simply becoming aware of it and then acting on this awareness using my knowledge of therapeutic techniques from the discipline of Energy Psychology.

Importantly, we cannot completely eradicate a belief, but we can dissipate the energy it may have accrued. Emotionally charged experiences reinforce a belief over time, building in energy to form a “truth” we hold about our Self or others in our unconscious mind. This is why we need to regularly examine our beliefs, in particular our “truths”, if we are to fully express ourselves in this life.

The second highly ‘negative’ health event to befall me is still ongoing, but I am very confident of a full recovery as I am addressing its psychological cause, the ‘why’ of its manifestation in me.

And so, we come to the title of this blog article—Prostate Cancer: A Deeper Meaning.

Acting on a suggestion made by a friend to take advantage of a local PSA testing facility in October last year, I duly filled a syringe with blood for them to determine my level of prostate specific antigens. The results were emailed to me in just a few days. For a man of my age a ‘normal’ reading would be between 4 and 6 units. Mine was 45. After checking to see if a decimal point may have been missing between the 4 and the 5, I had to accept that prostate cancer was a distinct possibility.

Again, to keep things brief, faster than it took to put a finger in my rectum, the cancer was confirmed, and I was on a treatment plan. A number of scans revealed it had not spread outside the prostate—deep sigh of relief.

In the weeks following confirmation, I once again set about discovering what errant belief may have set off this physical alarm call. Intriguingly, after a few sessions of focused meditation and with some serendipitous reading, I discovered an archetypal belief, deeply rooted in the collective unconscious, which was seeping through to my personal unconscious, and in need of purging. As previously, when dealing with the self-worth issue, I knew I could address this belief’s energy within my own personal unconscious, but dissipating its impact on the collective unconscious can only be done through revelation.

Ultimately, revealing this archetypal belief to others is the purpose of this post. What you do with this knowledge is of course entirely up to you! My ‘job’ here is simply to help bring it into mass awareness—the first step in any healing process.

The revelation is to do with the Western mind’s incessant pursuit of the orgasm as the goal of sexual union.

We are holding on to a belief that having sex is ultimately about procreation, and thus the sexual act must end in orgasm. We think that sexual gratification can only come through achieving this goal. It would appear to be a psychological artifact originating from the reptilian (or primal) brain. Having sex without needing to reach orgasm is more about putting the frontal cortex to good use, exploring the intimacy in connection, having fun, and making Divine Love. This form of sexual intimacy is called karezza, a term coined by a Quaker doctor nearly a century ago.

Remember that this archetypal belief of the collective unconscious will seep through to the personal unconscious (save for a lucky few) whether we are male or female. And yes, the male of the species is more prone than the female to adhere to this reptilian belief.

Book cover of Cupid's Poisoned Arrow - Marnia Robinson

The serendipitous reading I mentioned earlier revolved around this highly enlightening book by Marnia Robinson, Cupid’s Poisoned Arrow.

From the cover:

I can honestly say that I have never read a more accessible and well laid out description of the brain’s reward circuitry. Combine that with the experiential, practical, and spiritual dimensions of Cupid’s Poisoned Arrow, and it is virtually impossible to walk away from it without the feeling that Marnia Robinson really is on to something significant in the field of human relationships and sexual behaviour. (Russell Razzaque, MD, consultant psychiatrist, London.)

From within its covers:

Scholar Douglas Wile, who translated and analyzed numerous early Chinese texts on sex, observed that, “For the Christian, sex is for procreation; for the Chinese orgasm is for procreation, but sex is for pleasure, therapy and salvation.” (p.20.)

I will end this rather lengthy returning post here, with a promise to reduce the volume in future posts.

Hopefully the reader can relate to my current ‘negative’ health issue as I do, that it is a ‘positive‘ learning experience. A physiological creation that has prompted me to explore its psychological origins.

I say again, the first step in any healing process is to become aware of the detrimental belief/s we are unconsciously holding about ourselves. In my case, synchronous events led my meditative explorations more deeply, passed my personal unconscious, into the realms of the collective unconscious. It is my firm belief that a collective awareness of the material expressed in Marnia’s book will begin a much-needed healing in our understanding of intimacy in our relationships.
